Lower Yuba River

Nearest City: Marysville, CA

The lower Yuba is an amazing year round wild trout fishery. While nymphing can produce year round, it is known for its plethora of dry fly opportunities from caddis to a variety of mayflies, to skwalas, hoppers, and so on. When the Yuba is on it can be on fire. Other times the fish can be picky and choosy and we will spend a lot of time swapping out bugs to find out exactly what they want. The Yuba has no hatchery on it, so all of the trout are wild. With their pure genetics, they fight very hard and tend to jump a lot more than in other places. Many consider them to be the hardest fighting trout pound for pound in the state. The Yuba also has a lot of great swing water that can produce fish as well.
